Abstract

India is praised for the diversity of cultures and tradition. In nowadays, India has been facing a terrible problem of extreme overpopulation which is mainly due to migration. But the areas most affected by this huge rise in population are the metro cities. The research focuses on the movement of individuals from one place to another for different reasons in an inescapable marvel (The Indian Express, 2015). Due to increased migration, Delhi has now a number of slums and unauthorized areas and creates too big a burden on infrastructure and services. Migration consists literacy rate, employment, job seekers and vehicles owned by migrants. The study focuses on these parameters and how these impact the annual growth rate of Delhi. Analyses show that there is a negative correlation between migration and sustainable development.
